Nate Martin, NYS Licensed Guide
Proud Ambassador of JP Ross Fly Rods
For more than 30 years, Nate Martin has been exploring New York’s rivers, lakes, and wild backcountry with a fly rod, paddle, and pack. His passion for the outdoors began early—his grandfather first taught him to paddle as a kid, setting him on a lifelong path of adventure and appreciation for wild places.
Today, Nate brings that same spirit to his guiding. He specializes in helping beginners discover the joy of fly fishing and the confidence that comes from time spent on the water. Whether you’re learning to cast, reading a stream for the first time, or simply soaking in the quiet beauty of the Adirondacks or Finger Lakes, Nate’s patient, hands-on approach makes every trip relaxed, rewarding, and fun.
His goal is simple: to help people fall in love with the outdoors, one cast—and one adventure—at a time.
Safety is one of Nate’s greatest concerns while guiding. He is an active first responder with more than 25 years of experience in Fire, Rescue and EMS services. This includes almost two decades as an Emergency Medical Technician. In addition to his CPR certification, he has specialized training in Water & Rope Rescue and is certified in Wilderness First Aid.
